The Somali Reconciliation Institute conducts research on trauma healing and reconciliation by utilizing prophetic traditions and Qur’anic sources in conjunction with post-traumatic stress disorder treatment. We develop healing materials and train Muslim trauma healing lay counselors. The rehabilitation process is a necessary step toward reconciliation, recovery, and lasting peace for communities torn apart by conflict and violence.
